This month’s roasters choice is our Ethiopian Guji coffee! This bean is known for its bright, acidic flavor, unique body, and fruit-forward notes, such as berry and wine. The beans are lightly roasted to bring out these flavors and create a well-rounded, earthy finish.
The Guji region is named after one of the tribes of the oromo people who have roamed the mountains and the plains for thousands of years. The land is mountainous and rocky with rich, volcanic red soil which is rich and fertile, and perfect for carrying those nutrients that the coffee trees need to get those intense and sweet flavors.
Another special feature of this coffee is that this crop is handpicked.
In Ethiopia, hand-picking coffee cherries means that only the ripest cherries are chosen for processing.
